2 Juli yang ditunggu-tunggu nyaris terlewatkan. Padahal udah ditulis di whiteboard kalo hari ini ada premiernya Hancock (Will Smith).

Cerita dibuka sama adegan kejar-kejaran perampok sama pulisi di jalan tol (highway).  John Hancock yang sosoknya brutal pemabuk (untungnya gak cabul) waktu itu lagi enak2nya tidur padahal hari udah mulai terik. Hancock tiba2 take off terbang sambil bawa botol minuman alcohol (lupa mereknya) ngejer itu para perampok yang panik dikejar pulisi.

Sewaktu terbang, Hancock sempet nabrak papan penunjuk jalan segede gaban dan pecahan-pecahannya itu papan jatuh ke jalan dan membuat mobil-mobil polisi dan mobil pengguna jalan lainnya terpelanting ke sana sini. Hancock gak luka sedikitpun sampe akhirnya dia menancapkan mobil si perampok di sebuah menara yang tinggi.
